How do you remove gas, chainsaw oil and tree sap from work clothes?

My husband gets chainsaw oil, gasoline and tree sap on his work clothes. I wash in Tide, I use liquid fab soft. and dryer sheets. Everything else smells great, except his clothes, I wash them twice and by themselves. I have a great washer and I am tired of hearing him complain about how his clothes stink. I smell his clothes when they come out of the dryer and they dont smell that bad, but he seems to think they do.

  1. Try WD-40 spray and then a degreaser it works.

  2. I used to have the same problem with my mechanic hubby's clothes. I didn't think they're that bad, but he hated the smell.  I now use Method laundry detergent, instead of Tide. It works really well. I also add a cup of vinegar to each rinse cycle (instead of liquid softener.) Then to follow it up, I add a Bounce dryer sheet with his clothes while they're drying.

I haven't heard him complain since I started to do this.

  3. l**k it off........ with your tongue

  4. Ask him what he uses to get the smell out of the truck.  I worked the woods for a few years and it was my truck that stank...never had a prob with my clothes.   If he is that much of a muffin then maybe he should apply at your local call centre.
