How do you remove hair dye stains from a barbie doll?

Hi all :)

I tried to use hair dye to colour the hair of one of my barbie dolls. Unfortunately it did not work and whats worse is that the face of the doll is now stained in places with the hair dye too :(

I've tried to get the stains off but I can't seem to find anything that works. Can anyone please tell me of any way to remove the hair dye stains from her face?

Thank you for your help :)

P.S. It's not a vintage barbie - its a recent one made in the last few years. I thought I'd mention that to be specific in case the new and old ones are made of different materials and need different solutions for cleaning :P

  1. you could try spraying all the dyed bits with hairspray, then put her in the washing machine. sounds stupid but it usually works.

sorry if it doesnt though. its just what i do when i get hair dye on clothes

  2. bleach the plastic

  3. honestly nothing will work. it will be stained forever.

  4. DON'T USE BLEACH, there's ALLWAYS something that will work (some chemical that will attack the dye and leave the plastic alone)

hope it helps, also looks like Maximum Strength Clearasil and Oxy10 might work but use the with care as they could damage the plastic if left on for too long
