I bought fabric flowers for my wedding centerpieces. I left them in the box they came in and now a month later they are molding. They can not be put in the washing machine and i can not use bleach, being that their purple. Please help, they cost a lot and i don't want to throw them away.

  1. Spray them with undiluted white vinegar. Vinegar kills mold spores. Let them sit until dry. Then hand wash them with warm soapy water (add 1/2 cup borax if you have it). Rinse well and let them dry thoroughly.

  2. I would hand wash it with warm water and soap. The bad thing is that the mold spores will still be there and they can come back if there is too much moisture. You'll have to make sure you keep them in a dry place after you clean it.

My favorite shoes grew mold on the bottom b/c I lived near the beach. Unfortunately, I ended up throwing them away because of the moisture in the air.
