Question:

How do you remove odors from leather seats?

Just bought a car, but it has a funky, almost sour type of smell. I shampooed the floors and I believe they're not the cause. Therefore, it may very well be the leather seats. Is there a way I can put something on them to make them smell good. The leather cleaners and conditioners in auto stores aren't scented very much. I'll try anything

  2. Maybe a farm supply store might have saddle soap, bc that's what horse people use to clean saddles.

  3. Shampoo the car's interior, including carpets, upholstery and floor mats with an odor eliminating shampoo, available at hardware or home improvement stores.

Step2Clean all washable interior surfaces with the same shampoo. Put a small amount directly on a damp sponge, work in and wipe down.

Step3Clean all the windows inside with a glass cleaner. Repeat if necessary.

Step4Sprinkle baking soda on dry carpet, working it in with your hands. Wait a week and then vacuum.

Step5Clean leather upholstery with a commercial leather cleaner/deodorizer, available at your dealership or at home improvement stores.

Step6Vacuum ashtrays to remove residual ash. Place a small amount of baking soda or kitty litter into the ashtrays to absorb odors.

  4. I really like Ford's leather cleaner/conditioner. It has a light smell, but if you get the seats clean, they shouldn't smell anymore. If you do still notice a smell after cleaning the whole car, place a small container (like a small bowl) partially full of cinnamon under each front seat. The smell will absorb into the seat cushions and make the whole car smell like cinnamon. Replace when you notice the odor starting to fade (usually in a week or two).

  5. stop farting in them.
