How do you remove petroleum jelly from rubiks cube?

see... i was watching this video on youtube on how to make your cube move faster.. it says you should put petroleum jelly in it.. so i tried... while in yahoo answers.. i read that petroleum jelly damages your cube so i want to remove it

put it in a sink with hot water and dish soap...

since vaseline is an oil, the dish soap should dissolve it and make it float on the top of the water?? (tons of dish soap.)

OH, wait, put it in the dishwasher.

that might do it..  good luck.

or maybe try nail polish remover..

it might be easyist to just throw it out and buy a new one.

I would say hot water and towel. But my first question would be why is it there?

Why would you want it out? It's a great lubricant. I can solve it 30 seconds faster with it on.

Try Dawn detergent.

I don't think I want to even ask....so I will just tell you the best way to remove a greasy substance is with Dawn dish soap.  It is what they use to clean animals that have been in an oil spill.  It really does cut grease out of the way.

You cant really remove it fully. but a little tissue and alcohol can help. Well try buying a new cube so you could lube it with either jigaloo (in walmart) or silicone spray (hardware stores)

so you cn get sub 20 in a few months like me

They might be different now, but I remember being able to pop the rubiks cube all apart (to cheat of course!). Pop it all apart and then you'll need some dish detergent or other degreaser and some swabs and rinse water or a trip through the dishwasher on the top rack. I doubt your stickers will ever be the same, but you could paint your own colors on with nail polish. It'll probably take a while, but if you snap it together right, still less time than actually solving the puzzle!

Btw, how'd this happen anyway?
