How do you remove recently typed in phrases in the "search" sections in the web?

i recently browsed the "you tube" site, and i wanted to remove what ive searched for in the "search your you tube" section.. like when i type the letter P, the name paris hilton appears, how to i remove the recently searched phrases and refrain them from automatically appearing once i type a certain letter.thanks

Depends on the browser:

In Firefox:

Tools ->Clear Private Data->Check all boxes and press "Clear Private Data Now"

In IE:

Tools->Internet Options->General->Browsing History->Delete->Delete All
