  1. I don't think you can get it compleatly out,it absorbs into the silecone,some fish like a little salt in thier water.You could always use it for a rodent.

  2. fresh or salt water setup  water changes are the key

  3. Silicone does not absorb salt.  The best thing to do is continually rinse it out and fill it with freshwater.  This will dilute the salt concentration until a hydrometer registers it as freshwater.  If there aren't any fish in it, just suck out all the water, take it out into the yard, and hose it down.
