How do you remove scotch tape from paper without damaging the paper?

I taped a poster on the wall using scotch tape (the really sticky kind) and now I want to sell it but the tape is glued on tightly. How do I unsticky it without damaging the poster/paper material?

Try freezing it, it works for envelopes.

Use a hairdryer to heat the adhesive on the tape and then gently, very gently...did I mention GENTLY? peel the tape off.  Keep the hairdryer handy in case it starts to cool and stick again.
