  1. add some bicarborated soda to hot soapy water and scrub, rinse well

  2. Don't throw them away, just put regular dish washing liquid in the sink, boil the kettle and put at least 2 kettle fulls of boiling water, and a little cold water, make sure you wear gloves because the water will be extremely hot and then just wash as usual - I'm in an italian family and we always have pasta and always have left overs so we stick them in that and thats how I clean them and they come up pretty clean, the water just needs to be really hot to get the stains off - If there still on there let them soak in the hot water for a little while to loosen the stains on it

  3. I hate when this happens, im sorry but i havent heard of any way to remove the stains, I reccommend that you just buy new ones because germs and bacteria get stucked inside the cracks where the coloring of the food is.

  4. This isn't a "how to remove" the stains, but a how to prevent them.

Before you put any tomato based sauce into plastic bowls, spray them with a cooking spray like Pam.  The Pam will coat the plastic and not allow the sauce to stain.  We do this all the time after spending $$ replacing bowls.

If the stains are on bowls that you eat from...let them soak in very hot/very soapy water, then apply a little elbow grease and scrub.
