How do you remove the Dash to remove stereo on a 07 silverado New Body?

im trying to remove the stereo from my 2007 silverado New body style . I cant seem to get the dash all the way off.

  1. If you are in the mind that you need to rip the car apart to change the radio out then go to the stero shop and pay them to do it for you as you have on idea of what you are doing  or read the owners manual for the car and it will tell you everything you need to know.....


  2. The radio can be removed by taking a credit card (or something about the same size) and prying open the plastic trim that surrounds the radio and a/c controls. The plastic trim is held in by pressure clips and so the surrounding trim will come off easy. Work slowly as a quick yank could damage the trim.

  3. You pry off the trim piece that goes around the stereo and vent controls.  Then the stock radio just has two tabs one on each side that you have to depress down, then it just slides out.  Your aftermarket dashkit (if you got the right one)  will also just have two tabs.  Just slide it in and it'll snap into place.  I prefer using scosche kits and wire harnesses.
