How do you remove the door panel of a 99 cavalier?

I've tried to string around the door clip and needle-nosed it and nothing works, i don't wanna go spend the money on the tool for a one job thing only?,

any help would be great

If you don't use the tool, You will probably break some of the clips. It's kind of a toss up. You could spend ten bucks for the tool. Or, you could spend ten bucks (or more)to replace the clips.

One thing that worked for me, in a pinch is a flat head s***w driver. Just wedge it under the edge of the clip and pry it up.
