How do you remove the red printing on PVD pipe?

  1. To remove the printing from PVC pipe you "could" use a clear PVC primer, but that would leave a sticky residue and soften the pipe. I am assuming you want the pipe to have a nice hard shiny finish, for astectic purposes. If so, just get a clean white cloth and soak it with some nail polish remover. Wipe in one direction so as not to smear the ink. Then wipe again with dry clean cloth. If you don't want to use any chemicals, get a green scrubby with some soap and go at it. It will remove the ink, and clean the pipe, might put some tiny scratches in it though, but it will require a lot more elbow grease.


  2. Fine grit sand paper.
