How do you remove tire stains from a white hat?

well, my friend being an @$$ stole my brand new hat and hid it under someone's tire. well when he pulled it out, it had a bunch of stains. how can i take them out? i already tried wetting it with water and scrubbing it, but it seems like it made it worse. please help!

First you need to tell me is the hat fabric, felt , does it have a tag for it and washing instruction inside ?

Well get a stain remover spray like Spray N Wash (from Wal-Mart or something).

Just spray it and wash it (obviously)

It removes very tough stains.

LK has the right idea.  Is it a baseball type hat?  If so, you can get a little frame to wash it in, so it keeps its shape.  Then you can wash it on the top shelf of the dish washer.

But really, I think it's a goner.
