How do you replace Ignition coil on a troy built leaf blower?

  1. You'll first need to take out the housing screws and separate the halves. In most all cases the coil is going to be underneath the fan which also doubles as a flywheel. This can be tricky because the flywheel is pressed on from the factory and going to require a puller that looks like two fingers and a long bolt in the middle. If there is a Auto Zone or parts store near by, they rent the pullers. Take your blower with you to be sure they give you one that will pull the flywheel off.

    Once the flywheel is off you'll see the coil and probably two machine screws hold it on. The fun part is trying to put everything back together, especially the two halves of the casing.
