Question:

How do you replace R-134 in a 2001 Ford Expedition? Single mom needs help!?

Please be detailed. I have no idea where to put the refrigerant or what the ac compressor, clutch, etc looks like. I was just told to add the R-134 and hope it helps, otherwise I'm looking at $1500 for new compressor they say. Fan blows warm air, it was going on and off before this happened with cool then warm air. Said it could be clutch or switch. But also heard the Expedition will stop working if the refrigerant gets even a little low, especially with rear air. Thanks for your help.

  2. Take it to a local garage. Buy your own 134a at the store first. Most local guys will do it for dirt cheap. I would do it for free if you were in the KC area.
