my dear friend unfortunately has almost lost her house, car, ect.. because she plays machines at the local bars. Anyone have any input on how to report these taverns. I have seen many other people lose even spouses and businesses while these bar owners get wealthy.

  1. I wouldn't!!

  2. Unfortunatly, closing these places down won't deter your friends path of self destruction.  It's kinda like asking bars to close because she's an alcoholic.  If it isn't the bar games she'll find something else.  I'm sorry my friend.  :(

  3. u dont snitch if it aint physically harmin u dont snitch. that is just a d@#* punk move man trust me dont sitch. some one will find out u did it and they just might bank u

  4. either report it to your local police department or your states alcohol beverage control board. they could lose their license in a heartbeat.

edit: as a former police officer all of you guy's who rant on and on about "snitching" give me a very hearty guttural laugh.

  5. This is actually one of the most common ways that places like this do get shut down. Often it is a friend, family member or spouse of someone who has been losing lots of money that blows the whistle on places with illegal machines or places with illegal card games. Call the police non-emergency line or contact a local politician's office like congressman or representative for that district/city/county. Or call the local TV news station. They are always looking for stuff like this. You can do any of those anonymously with a phone call....just have the details they will need like address and number of illegal games in operation.

  6. Just call the police department's non-emergency number (do NOT dial 911). You can usually file such a complain anonymously if you do not want then to know your name.

There is nothing wrong with filing such a complaint, but don't be surprised if nothing comes of it.

  7. My dad always told me that snitches end up in ditches.

  8. Newsflash....it's your 'dear friend's' fault...not the tavern!  People need to take responsibility for their actions.  "Man up" tell your friend that she is being stupid and to s***w her head on.  Embarrass her at the bar..walk up to her and loudly ask what she thinks of losing all of her money, her house, and her car!  http://www.GamblersAnonymous.org
