How do you request someone from Mexico to come here to work for you? Any idea how long it takes?

I am starting a new business and my friends cousin in Mex. has many yrs experience and will be a great help. I refuse to hire an illegal immigrant and really need his specific skills and knowledge. Thanks for any help.

What is his educational background and what are his special skills and knowledge?  There are quite a number of specific employment pass or work visas, but they basically boil down to unskilled agricultural worker or highly educated and skilled professionals.  And the employer must prove there are no Americans qualified to do the job.

    With unemployment rising at the fastest rate in at least 30 years (some economists calculate 60 years), it is becoming more and more difficult for employers to prove there are no qualified Americans.  Over 380,000 people per week are losing their jobs.  And you have to convince immigration that none of these desperate job hunters could possibly do the work you need done.

    Depending on the visa category the job & person qualify for, it may be a year or two to get them a visa.  This year's visas were allocated long ago.

  4. Go to Home Depot first thing in the morning.  They'll be everywhere.
