Our control panel seems to be "dead". We checked all the breakers and they are fine, but we cannot adjust the AC because the control panel in the house is not working.....Does anyone know if we can reset this??? or what may be wrong? The panel in the house is a Bryant.

  1. I bet it's either battery powered or you have a bad control fuse or transformer in the indoor unit.

  2. Some (control panels) thermostats are powered by the indoor unit if they don't have batteries.

The indoor unit (furnace or air handler) has a transformer that powers the control circuit but it is powered by 120v if it's a furnace and 220v if it's an air handler.

    Check the breakers.

  3. The thermostat power usually comes from the furnace transformer, although it sometimes comes from a transformer on the condensing unit outside.  Turn the switch in the furnace room off and back on, and check the fuse next to it.  If that doesn't do it, check the fuses (if it has them) in the disconnect on the wall by the outside unit.  After that call a service company.
