How do you respectively turn down an interview?

Online when someone wants to speak with you. Do I just not reply?

  1. Always courteous to reply (and decline respectfully).  You never know when your path will cross in the future & you may need a job with them.

    Last time this happened to me, I said:

    "Thanks so much for thinking of me, but at this time, I'm happy where I'm at, and since I've only been here for 9 months, I owe it to both myself & the company to accomplish more in this role before moving on.  Please keep me in mind for the future."


  2. Yes you can ignore them.

    And pay the price.

    The next time you are looking for a job and they see your resume they may just dump it and pass you by.

    You should be doing more than just seeking your next job. Think networking. Think building relationships.

    So a nice reply, that opens the door for future possibilities is always in order.

  3. i don't know what you mean by and "interview" but ya if you just don't reply there's no way that they know that you're even at your computer. but if you're talking about being respectful, the only completely polite thing to do would be to talk to them and then say you need to go and sign off... unless your not talking about IM which then you cant just sign off..
