  1. What the h**l, are you serious? What's wrong w/ thank you? There's not much else to say, unless you just wanna stand there.

  2. Hello

Thank you is the only response that I can think of.

They have probably lost another, so know how you feel, they are reaching out to let you know that you are not alone & you will find that a majority of people due to their own pain about death will avoid you rather than say sorry fyl etc. So saying thank you to those who do step forward is a good way.

  3. Thank you, is a good response for a recent death or one that happen 2yrs ago. You don't need to elaborate any further.

  4. A simple "thank you" is all that's needed

  5. The appropriate response is "Thank You" to someone you care about or don't know. If it's someone you don't like you can always respond with "Thanks - I just wish it had been you instead".

  6. -thx for ur kindness

    -thank you

    -thank you..i appreciate it

  7. Thank you is the correct response.  What else is there to say?

  8. Thank you. I appreciate it.  No one expects you to say anything else.  It is hard to know what to say no matter which side of the grieving you are on.  'You have my sympathy' does not seem to be enough either .

  9. Thank you is just fine.  Better than s***w you

  10. "Thank you" is fine. You can add- "We appreciate your thoughts and prayers, they are a great comfort."

Or, depending upon how well you know the person, you can say something like, "He's at peace now" or, "She's no longer in constant pain."

  11. Thank You is all that should be said.

  12. "Thank you"
