Question:

How do you restore a PC to a previous date?

My home PC has, for some reason, restarted itself, and now isn't letting me sign in. After turning on, it goes straight to the "select account" screen. Now, I only have one account set up, so usually it just starts into that account. After I click on the account, it begins to load, and then moves to my desktop background image, but no shortcuts. It goes there for almost a second, and then heads back to the account select screen, saying that that its logging out..

I've been thinking that I can just reset it back to a previous date, like a week ago (I've had this done before, by a technically savvy friend of mine) it should be fine.. but I don't know how to do that...

  1. In your kind of System, Its much better if you do a clean install ( if you have an Installation Disk ) instead of doing a System Restore to have a clean System.

  2. Goto -> all programs -> accessories -> system tools -> system restore.
