How do you restore you computer back to its original settings?

I want to delete basically everything and just have it back its original settings when u first get it, I tried the system restore thing but it doesnt seem to get rid of your programs? Can some one help?

  1. One way to restore your computer to its original settings.

    If you have the Installation disk then you can just format your computer which will wipe out everything in your HDD then do a clean install of your OS software, Drivers and Program softwares from scratch.

  3. You can either use system restore, which logs restore points to revert back to if you really s***w things up, or you can just reinstall windows.  The first one is easier in my opinion.

  5. if you had a system restore point that went back far enough this would work, but the best way is to either use the restore disk that came with your system if possbile, other than that Windows or Vista disk and rebuild

  6. When you say you want it back to its original settings do you mean with Windows installed or without an operating system. If you have a copy of Windows and just want to start fresh you can format your hard drive which clears everything. It is quite simple to do, especially with XP. If you can tell me more could probably help further
