  1. I always paid them more than I thought anyone else would pay them.. it worked.. and was cheaper in the long run.... no retraining folks etc..

  2. There are many ways. I have owned a business for over 30 years and I'll share some of the things that has worked for me.

One of the most important is to make them feel how important they are and how valuable they are to the companies success. If you honestly make them part of the company you'll be rewarded with their loyalty and and they will be rewarded financially as well. they will never feel like being just a number.

Every year a successful business that makes a profit has to pay taxes. What I do every year is  give an amount that is equal to our taxes to our employee's. Yes they have to pay tax on it but I'd rather give it the people who helped make our company a success than to Uncle Sam. Profit Sharing helps plus a fair wage through out the year. Also be sure to compliment your employee when they do their job well, and don't rag on them when they make a mistake.Explain to them that everyone  makes mistakes and take time to show them another way that they could have performed  their duties. I hope this answers your question and remember PEOPLE need to feel part of something.

    Good Luck
