My brother's car is a Chevy Malibu (I forget the year), and a CD got stuck in his stereo. Is there any way that I can get it out without having to take it to a shop? If not, how expensive is the repair?

  1. disconnect the battery (don't do it if you don't have the radio unlock code!!!) for a couple minutes and let the radio reset, if it does not eject after hooking the power back up you could try some of those other options to pull it out (but don't stick anything metal inside if it while it is receiving power of you could further damage it)

  2. i had this happen to me once. as long as you can see the edge of the disc, you should be able to grasp it with either small needle nose pliers or hemostats. your disc may be damaged but it's cheaper than a new player. this is one reason i  now burn the store bought disc and use the "burner" in the car.

  3. You should be able to get it out using an knife. If that doesn't work try to push it in. I know when I once had a cd stuck what I did was just push it in some and it came out.

  4. I have had this happen to me before so I just took a card (credit card, etc.) and slid it underneath the cd and pulled down and outwards at the same time.
