And is it possible to do it with the line actually inside the worm?

  1. Use this to get the line inside of the worm. We use this to thread our worms and it makes it REALLY hard for the fish to steal them. It works GREAT. It's a nasty process, but it works.

How you set up a two hook line is you would want the first hook about 3-6" up the line, depending on the lenth of your crawlers (put the hook either directly on the line or on a swivel, you might could even put this top hook on the line but not tied to it so that it can move freely, this would make it easier to rig if the worm is shorter than you expected and also allow the worm to move around a little more naturally), and put the second hook at the end of your line. Use the threader to thread the worm onto the bottom hook and onto the line up to the second hook. Take the second hook and put it through the worm, being careful not to hit the line inside. You will now have a worm rigged with two hooks, but with the line threaded through the worm.

We will have to try this two hook method ourselves, I think. We have thread the end line hook on and the fish will actually grab the top and slide it down the line trying to get it off without getting the hook. With a second hook up top, they wouldn't be able to do that without getting hooked. Thanks for giving us the idea....lol.

I hope this helps. Tight lines!!

Additional: Oh duh....lol. You said you were using a harness. I gave how you would set up a rig for one...lol. You would still use the threader though and put it on the bottom hook and thread it up to the top hook and place the top hook through just like I said with the rig, but of course, the hooks are already set up, so I could have left all of that out...lol. Either way, I hope it helped. Good luck.

Also: Yes, the way Rob said is the traditional way, and that works GREAT too, but you asked how to do it with the line inside of the worm, and the threader is the only way to manage that. People are giving me thumbs down for actually trying to answer the ENTIRE question. UG!...lol.

  2. Hook the crawler through the nose with the front hook, and hook them by the band with the second.  I've used crawler harnesses for years, and this the best way that I've found to hook them.

  3. when you go fishing and spend the day on the water fishing and baiting the hooks about how long does it take for you to clean your fingernails and wash your hands? Use plastics they out catch and out perform and always cleanly.
