How do you run Full Screen programs in Windowed mode?

I have an old computer game (from Windows 98 days), it is designed to run in full screen mode. I would like to try and run the game in a Windowed mode though, to make it easier for me to bounce back and fourth between it and other screens... I've gone to properties for the .exe file, but I don't see an option for what mode to run it in. Does anyone know a way (shortcut key or something) to make Full screen programs switch to windowed mode?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

see if there is some kind of options menu, or view, or something. and change the view from full screen to whatever resolution's it gives.
