  1. get off your fat butt and start kicking those legs

  2. Hope there is a few pubs in between the start and the finish so u can pop in and re fuel.

  3. I can;t run 8k. I can only walk it.

  4. run at a pace you think you can mantain throughout the race

    and run!

  5. Train before hand and build up to about 6 klms. Keep a good and healthy diet.  Eat a good light breakfast, keep hydrated (drink/sip water), wear sunscreen and a hat, warm up your muscles before you begin (especially legs),start at a slow pace and increase the pace as you feel you can.  Then just have fun and do your best.

  6. Go out as fast as you possibly can (for about 1-2 maybe 3 miles). Pass as many people as possible in this time. Push as hard as you can to stay with this front pack. Start to try and pass these people with about 1-1.5 miles left (do this only if you are sure that you can blow them away). If you don't think think that you can blow them away for good than hang right behind them until there is about 400-600 yards left Then just pour it all on. DO NOT SLOW DOWN UNLESS THEY WILL CATCH YOU AND PASS YOU. You WILL be absolutely dead by the end of the race but it will be a good feeling because you would have done well. If you held back at the end because it hurt too much then after the race you will call yourself a sissy because you know you could have gone faster.
