  1. It take about a month of training to do a 1 miler so you are not prepared. Sorry. But if you start running now and stick with it, you'll be ready for another activity or for any sport because you'll have endurance which is needed in all sports.

  2. Well to not get tired after the first lap you need to train for at least a week. Two to do a better time you need to train for a couple weeks at least to get your fitness level up. So you'll just have to pace yourself and not run too hard the first couple laps so you can run them all.

  3. Well, it's a little late to get in shape.  But, if memory serves me right, there are plenty of kids who aren't ready for the mile.  Don't stress yourself out too much.  If you need a walk break, take one.  Don't start out too fast - a bunch of kids will probably take off as fast as they can - don't feel like you have to keep up with them.  Don't eat right before you run, and make sure you stretch afterwards.

Maybe you can get into shape this summer.  Start slowly, walk, jog, walk, jog, etc and work your way up.  With a little bit of work this summer, you'll be able to beat your time next year!

  4. dude you gotta pace yourself.

  5. Well if your out of shape you will get tired. Heres all I can say for you pace yourself. Don't give up. Think this it may hurt while your running, but it won't kill you. Have a strong mentallity the whole race. Also look up tips on distance running.

  6. Stretch REALLY good before running [all runners can tell you that], and go at YOUR OWN pace dont try and follow anyone since everybody is at different levels of endurance.

Breathe correctly, dont hyperventilate, if you feel like you can go faster then go for it and feel it out if not then go back to the comfortable pace that suits you.
