  1. first make your your willing to work a young horse and second make sure your want to work a mare a mare has her times like all females they turn nasty and are most likey to hurt you

(take it from me im a trainor and i own a huge horse ranch)

1)First you get her in the round pen  let her on a normal line and take the pad and rub it on her all over , LET HER SMELL IT! once she is fine with the saddle blanket put it over her back  let her move but speak in a calm gental voice praising her good job. after she is compleatly good take it off and put it on a couple time so she gets use to it.

2)Then the saddle comes let HER SMELL IT! rubb it over her should and make sure her strup or cinch or and dangely things are moveing then slowly, (while praising her ) lower the saddle let her stand if she moves and the saddle falls off ask her to come over and sniff it till she stops moving and excepts it then once agian repeat the step  till she is fine with it

    3) DANGEROUS (sometimes) Tighten the cinch but carefully watching her ears her eyes her legs and any moving parts. once tightend , get out she might become a bucking bronco ,  let her calm down or get use to it! then after the episode is over slowly reenter the round pen talking in slow gental low voice.

    4) Tighten the saddle and putter her out to lounge ask for a walk

    5) Stop check cinch

    6) walk then trot then a walk then stop

    7) walk then trot then stop

8)repeat everything here for  2 weeks without riding in the saddle make sure she is use to it if you dont want to exspirence a bucking game when first getting on then put a sack of potatos or rocks on the saddle and tie down  once use to the weight , slowly , (still in the roundpen) get half way in the sturrups, them dismount , then do it again on both sides and make sure she stands!  once she is use to it then get in the saddle do no more then a walk , stop and backup for the first couple of days then you may add speed

  2. Heey, yeah, but you have to make sure you are experianced enough to back a horse. It can be difficult, requires a lot of hard work and patience.

Firstly, you should start by just laying a cloth over it's back, gradually add heavier rugs then eventually place a saddle on the horses back but DO NOT get on. Also, i advise the first time you get on, make sure your horse is on the lungeline so somebody else can intervene if your horse is being difficult. These are just basic guidelines, every horse is different. You would benfit more if you bought a horse book, or got help off a qualified riding instructor. Before you buy this horse though, get somebody to hold onto your legs and DON'T get on properly, but just lean over the horses back. This is because the owners may have had trouble backing this horse so are selling it. Even if you know these people it's best just to try it out.

Good luck, hope i've helped you!
