How do you safely transport a used wall oven?

We bought a used wall oven and want to move it ourselves.

  1. Once you get it out of the wall lay on its back so door doesn't open.

I've replaced my wall oven twice and resold it.  Here is how the professionals did it both times.  Once it is removed, remove all of the racks, the broiler pans, probe or anything else loose that is inside of it.  Tape the plug to the back of the oven and tape both doors closed.  Use a 4 wheeled dolly to transport it UPRIGHT to the truck or SUV you intend to transport it with.  Leave it upright in the truck and bungy cord it solidly to the truck.  It took 2 people to carry it and load it onto the truck as well as to lift it out.  (Some ovens cannot be turned on their backs or sides, especially convection.)
