  1. What a great idea, most especially if it's sanctioned, supported, and others have the same interest. Does your high school put on plays? Have a theater dept? If so that might be a place to ask questions, regarding getting the ball rolling.

Certainly one should have an interest in not only Drama, but all genres of theater, and no one strictly needs be be an actor/actress, but be interested at least.

A method might be facilitated by YOU, choosing certain pieces of work that are relatively easy to manage at first, in what might begin as a group reading scripts, being the characters and It can be casual to start.

You might want to research various issues in the school or public library, even getting them involved, and have discussions/educational sessions about varying forms of drama, etc. as well as learning general things about theater, and the technology or procedures that go into putting on a production.

You might get to a point where you can do assignments and increase the seriousness of reading particular plays, analyze characters in discussion groups, and share opinions about any message a play might be attempting to deliver.

You can talk costuming, set design, props issues, etc. etc. etc.

I don't know if you can strictly call it a Class, but certainly you can organize a decent Drama Club, and have it known to faculty and the student body alike. You may even inquire to local community theaters and colleges regarding an occasional guest speaker, already involved in the craft.

       Good luck with the project.
