How do you save a picture to be a smaller file size (under 1 mb) with photoshop?

Open the photo in Photoshop.  Click on "File".  Then click on "Save for Web".  You will get a box on the right side of your screen.  In the box that shows 100%, change the number - try 50% to start off with.  Click on "OK" and it will give you the file size at the bottom left of your screen.  You can go back and change the percentage until you reach the desired file size.
