How do you save a screen-shot?

right, so i think you hit "print screen"... but then what?

i think a while ago my friend told me a method, it had something to do with putting the image into "paint" then saving it there, but how do you insert it into paint?

  1. open up paint.

    create a "new" document

    paste (ctrl-v) the screenshot into it.

    you can also just "paste" it into Word, email message or whatever else you have that let's you paste.  Basically your screenshot is just sitting in your "clipboard" waiting to be pasted somewhere


  2. Print Screen is right.

    All you have to do after that is open up paint, and paste it there.

    (Edit -> Paste)

    Grab the Screen Shot:

    <ctrl>+<PrtSc> will capture the entire screen.

    <alt>+<PrtSc> will capture the window that currently has focus.

    Step 2:

    Paste the Image:

    1. Open MS Paint by pressing <windows key>+<R>

    2. Type mspaint, hit enter.

    3. Hit <ctrl>+<V>

    Step 3:

    -----------

    Save your Image:

    1. Hit <alt>+<F>

    2. Hit <A>

    3. Type a name for the picture.

    4. Press OK
