How do you save an Image as a Valid extension?

I'm trying to upload some photos I made on GIMP to Photobucket but the thing keeps saying -

Upload Error

The file "" does not have a valid image extension.

Valid image extensions are: gif, jpg, jpeg, png, bmp.

PLEASE HELP???

  1. GIMP should have a "save as" feature you can select type in a dropdown menu
