  1. widmen + dat.

Ich widme  dieses Buch meinem Brüder

  2. Moon and Alwin are correct, she just gave you other tenses of it but the last one is the one that is the one you want as is Alwins.

  3. Dedication has several translations in German.

    Der Einsatz

    Die Einweihung

    Das Engagement

    Die Eroeffnung

    Die Hingabe

Die Widmung which is the correct translation for a book dedication........................

  4. The first two answers and Alwin E are correct, but what I do not understand, why the first two got thumbs down for right answers????? In your case dedication means "Widmung" - I am dedicating this book to my friend." - Ich widme dieses Buch meinem Freund.

  5. It's a "Widmung".

    In a sentence,

"This book is dedicated to my wife"

    it would be:

"Dieses Buch ist meiner Frau gewidmet", or, more personally:

"Ich widme dieses Buch meiner Frau"

("I dedicate this book to my wife")

  6. Anna's right, "to dedicate" means "widmen".

    "Dedication" is "Widmung".
