How do you say Hello and how are you in the Romanian language?

I have a new in-law who is from Romania and would like to welcome her to the family, but also make her feel at home.

hello? - "bună" or "salut"

how are you? - "ce mai faci?"

"Hello! How are you?" >> "Salut! Ce mai faci?"

Pablo gave you an excellent answer already, but I'm not sure if you'll know how to pronounce it...

Salut:  sah-LOOT

Ce:  cheh (the E is short, like in bEd)

Mai:  like the English word "my"

Faci:  more or less -> FAH-ch

The "ah" sounds I wrote sound more like the A in "fAther" and NOT the A in "cAt"

how are you - ce mai faci - read as tcheh my fatch (literary translation would actually be "c.um esti" - read as "koom yeshty"

Don't say "salut", it sounds too official! You may say "buna" - read as in boo-nah"

How are you - ce mai faci - tsheh my fah-tch
