  1. Do you:  Haces.

    Did you: Hiciste.

  2. It´s not that simple.

Usually in English, Do you? is used when you start a question: Do you want this book?

And also, you can use Do you? (just like that) when asking something about a previous sentence.

In Spanish, for the first case, you just have to say ¿TÚ? :

    Do you want this book?

    ¿Tú quieres este libro?

    Do you study here?

    ¿Tú estudias aquí?

In the second case, the most usual equivalent would be:

    ¿Es así?

    ¿sí?

The same for DID YOU. In English, you need those Do and Did (auxiliary verbs) , but in Spanish you don´t need them.

DID is the auxiliar for the past tense. In Spanish you don´t need an auxiliar for the past. The meaning of past is given by the conjugation in each verb by itself:

    Did you want this book?

    ¿Tú querías este libro?

    Did you study here?

    ¿Tú estudiste aquí?

  3. Do you is "quieres?" - present tense

Did you is "querías?" - past tense

  4. Do you? : ¿Le hace?

Did you? : ¿O le hizo?
