How do you say hamster in chinese???

I have a chinese hamster and it looks like a panda, if i can find out how you say hamster.... I'll probably name it Xiong Mao(Panda)

I found 仓鼠 as hamster.  The pinyin is cāng shǔ.  You can check out some pronunciations online on how to say it.

The Chinese word for mouse, "Laoshu", covers a variety of animals that can include kangaroo rats, hamsters and moles.

One interesting fact is that in the Year of the Rat, the price of hamsters has tripled in China since hamsters also are called as Laoshu (the chinese word for rat) and are are considered lucky and more acceptable pets than rats since the Chinese Rat New Year.
