How do you say hope in Latin?

My middle name is Hope, so I want to get a tattoo on my inner wrist with a saying with the word hope in it but in Latin.

Some ideas of sayings or quotes:

Hope keeps life alive

While there's life there's hope

Does anyone know good (and accurate) resources for Latin sayings or does anyone actually know some Latin

Thanks for the help!

  1. * Spes -ei" 3 declination..Write with 1° capital lettar because she was a goddess..

The old Latins sed..." Spes ultima dea"..the meaning is interesting..When a man has no ever goddess to beg ( Lucky- Intelligentsia, Vis, Victoria,) remain only Spes..the last goddess.

Hoc respontio venit ex Francisco..ab urbe de Florentia..Italica natione..

    Latin is ever usefull..

  2. SPES is Latin for hope-

Spes tenet vitam vivam = Hope keeps life alive

Dum spiro spero = Till there's life there's hope (literal "until I breath I hope")

Here below requested good (and accurate) resources for Latin sayings :

    I guess you've enough...!!

  3. The verb "hope" is spero in latin. Sperata is the one "hoped for" aka the bride. The noun "hope" is spes in latin. That may be confused with spaz, so that's not a good one.

My favorite book on Latin sayings is "Latin for even more occasions." by Henry Beard. It is also hilariously funny. Did you know that "eat my shorts" is "Vescere bracis meis" in Latin? Your library may have that book. I have a book of famous latin sayings with things like "cogito ergo sum" and "mundus vult decepi, ergo decipiatur." But I can't find it at the moment. Vale - See you later.

  4. You can either say Spes or Spero.
