How do you say "happy summer" in Mandarin?

I've learned

summer is 夏天 xiàtiān

So "Xīn xiàtiān" (幸夏天)is correct?

  1. i'm not sure but i bet some translation sites would know! good luck

  2. I think its actually.

    Xia Tian Quai Le

    夏天快乐

  3. 快乐过暑假 (kuai4 le4 guo4 shu3 jia4) or 快乐过夏令 (kuai4 le4 guo4 xia4 ling4)

    pronunciation: (k-why luh g-wuh shoo jee-ah) or (k-why luh g-wuh shee-ah l-ing)

  4. 愉快的夏天 [Yu2 kuai4 de xia4 tian1]

愉快 [Yu2 kuai4] = another meaning for joyful or happy

  5. have you watched Camp Rock? hapy summer in mandarin is mentioned there

  6. 幸 is not a literal meaning of happy. 幸 means fortunate or blissful (幸福 xing fu) or lucky (幸运 xing yun). The alphabetical representation of 幸 is "xing" not "xin".

Happy can be 高兴 (gao xing): 我很高兴 meaning "I am very happy", where 很 (hen) means "very".

Happy can also be 快乐 (kuai le): 生日快乐 meaning "happy birthday" where 生日 (sheng ri) literally means birthday.

In the context of your question, if you're asking for a translation for "have a happy summer", I would say "祝你有个愉快的夏季",

    where 祝你 means "wish you",

    有个 means "have a"

    愉快 means "enjoyable" or "fun"

夏季 means "summer" as in the entire season, and not just a summer day as implied in "夏天"

It would be strange (though not unacceptable) to use the format of "happy birthday" to say "happy summer", ie, "夏天快乐" or "夏季快乐", (where you simply tag a "快乐" after the day in question), as the format of happy birthday is mostly meant for special occasions like "happy new year" (新年快乐) or "merry christmas" (圣诞快乐).

If you prefer a short wish like "happy birthday" without speaking in a full sentence, I think it's acceptable to say "夏天愉快".
