When you want to say that u didn't talk with a person from a long time how do you say it?! like i didn't talk to him in ages? or what? help!

Hi,

  I haven't spoken with him for a long time.  You could also say, "I haven't spoken with him for ages."  That's somewhat less frequently used than the first statement.  

Incidentally, one of the subtle gestures to politeness in English is to say you spoke with someone rather than to someone.  The rather subtle implication of "spoke with him" is that it was a two-way conversation.  To speak to someone is used when you just say hello or good morning, but to use it to describe a dialog with a person has a subtle implication that you did all of the talking or that it was within the context of a superior speaking to a subordinate.

Good question..

Yeah, you can say "I haven't spoken to him/her in ages."  It works, its just another way of saying that you haven't spoken to a person in a really long time.  

I just saw kids from my elementary school at a sweet sixteen that I hadn't seen for almost 3 years! So when I went up to them to catch up, I said, "Hey there stranger, long time no see!" I also said "Wow, I haven't seen you in ages!"  And there u go, even i used it! It was very ockward the whole night but eventually u get into the flow of things and you can talk.
