  1. call him Sushi! oh and its siamese fighting fish, they come from thailand! =) maybe...names? sushi like i said um tye pronounces tie. um idk! lol!

  2. they are not from japan

    they are from Thailand

Thailand used to be called Siam

    thets why bettas are

    Siamese fighting fish

    not

    Japanese fighting fish

    --------------------------------------...

fish in Japaneses is 魚 i have no idea on how to say that

  3. Musashi

  4. Yes, there are indeed Siamese but known popularly as Japanese Fighting Fish.

The character "魚" that Fish Man used has 2 pronunciations: "uo" (oo-O) and "sakana"

I would name him "Musashi", after Musashi Miyamoto, a legandary swordsman from the late 16th century born in Japan. If you want to experience the "spirit" of Musashi before you name your fish, check out Akira Kurosawa's movie trilogy: Musashi Miyamoto, Duel at Ichijoji Temple and Duel on Ganryu Island

  5. It's a Siamese Fighting Fish.  They come from Thailand which used to be called Siam.

  6. Mines named Fishie :D

My mother's is Mushu [like the dragon from disney's Mulan :] ]

  7. They aren't Japanese Fighting Fish; they're Siamese Fighting Fish, or Betta (pronounced Bet-tah, not Bay-tah).

You could name it something Japanese-themed, however, such as Samurai or Bushido.

    Good luck!

  8. Bettas aren't Japanese. They come from Thailand, which used to be called Siam. So the common name for the betta is the "Siamese Fighting Fish." Sometimes you'll hear people call them Chinese or Japanese but that's wrong.
