  1. ba-nee-la (korean)

  2. in Aleut say 'Wahnehlahks' or Bahnehlahks instead of spelling 'Waniihlax/Baniihlax'

Inuktitut say 'Vahneliahq' or Pahneliahq' instead of 'Vaniillaq/Paniillaq'

  3. Vaniglia (in Italian language)--> you pronounce that exactly as you write it.

Vanille (German)-> you pronounce that without the final "e".

  4. Sorry but in spanish it's "vainilla" pronounced "Va-ee-Nee-Ya"

in french it's "vanille" pronounced "Va-neel"

in italian it's "vaniglia" pronounced "Va-neel-ya"

in fact the word "vanilla" in english and the pronounciation of the word comes from the italian form so the pronounciation it is similar in english and in italian (I said similar)

  5. Vanilla:

    Arabic- فانيلا

    Bulgarian- Ванилия

    Chineese (simplified) - 香草

    Chineese (traditional) - 香草

    Croatian - Vanilija

    Czech - Vanilka

    French - Vanille

  6. in spanish its pronounced v-iii-nee-ah

  7. in italian, vaniglia is NOT pronounced how it looks. it is NOT pronounced (vaneegleeah) it is pronounced (vaneelya)  in other words the 'g' is silent.

EDIT: why'd i get thumbed down? the G really IS silent. ask ANY italian speaker. it is also silent in figli (sons, feelyee), famiglia (family, fameelya), coniglio (rabbit, coneelyo) oglio (oil, olyo) whoever thumbed me down is SERIOUSLY confused. they are the ones who are wrong, not me.

  8. I find it pretty hard to explain how to pronounce a word, especially to someone who might have never heard the language.

So what I can do is to give you a link to this website where you can type in a word and hear what it sounds like. It has various languages you can try. I cannot tell you if they all sound exactly correct, but the portuguese word for vanilla has an accurate pronounciation. So just type 'baunilha' and hear what it sounds like.

Hopefully this will help more than a try at explaining how to say it.
