  1. CHUC' MUNG` NAM  MOI'

  2. "tet," but I think there maybe another word that goes with it

  3. Dep Tet!.......Beautiful New Year.....close as I can come.

  4. chuc mung nam moi...actually im not a vietnamese, i just learned this from my boyfriend..just correct me if im mistaken..thanks..

  5. Chuc Mung Nam Moi.

  6. Happy New Year is "Chuc Mung Nam Moi" because "Tet" is the Lunar New Year. That is a whole different story.

    You're welcome!!!

  7. "Chuc Mung Nam Moi" is correct. However, some fancier ways to say the same thing , especially in writing is "Cung Chuc Tan Nien" which also means "Best Wishes for the New Year " or "Cung Chuc Tan Xuan" which means "Best Wishes for a New Spring".

Why spring in the middle of winter? The Vietnamese (and Chinese?) believe the official beginning of spring is around the time of the lunar new year, 5 to 7 weeks before the western reckoning.

  8. Chuc Mung Nam Moi,  cheers
