Here's a list of places I want to know how they say "hello"/greet :

Philippines

China

Peru

Ecuador

Argentina

Afghanistan

Pakistan

India

Palestine

Iraq

Lebanon

Sierra Leone

Sudan

Mozambique

I tried "google"ing them, but some places have more than one language, so I don't know which language to use. =/

  1. I'll be honest with you, I don't want to search the internet for translations of hello for I might give you the wrong information.

Instead I'll give you translations I know.

Philippines-Kamusta ka? (but hello would be okay, filipinos understand that)

China-Ni hao (hao is said like "how")

Sorry, the language I know is limited. But I could give you other translations of hello even when you didn't ask for it.

Cantonese(hongkong)-lei hao (lei is said as "lay")

Min nan hua(also another language of china)-di ho

Japan-konichiwa(i'm sure you're familiar with this)

Sorry, that's all I know, hope I helped.

  2. kamustaka, ni hau ma, buenos dias, salaam aleikum, namaste, salaam aleikum, Bonjour, jambo, bem dia

    Lebanon: Marhaba

India: Hello is said as hello, as India is a diverse country with many languages they have different words denoting hello. Otherwise it's the universal hello. But since the majority of the people living there speak Hindi its Namasthe

Peru: In Peru they speak Spanish so its Hola!
