There is no exact translation for this. It is an English colloquialism.

Do you mean that you wear your hair in a chignon or a ponytail?

The Italians would say "I wear my hair in a chignon"

"Porto i miei capelli in una crocchia"

If you are describing what you do to your hair in the morning;

So you could say "Mi tiro su i capelli in un chignon /una coda di cavallo"

"Mi tiro su i capelli" is the most generic way. (btw: "su" does not have an accent).

"Mi faccio la coda" ("coda di cavallo" is an old-style way of saying it) means you are putting up your hair in a pony tail.

"Mi faccio la treccia" means you are styling your hair in a braid.

This is what I can think of, but your starting sentence is a bit unusual. If it was supposed to be a metaphor/slang, you lost me here :-D
