  1. To add to what the poster above said:

    Chotto matte-Hold on a minute...

    Matte Kudasai-A minute, please...

  2. Depending on the situation( pause what?...), the answer could be a little different.

    Chotto yasumimashou, would be one.

I'm sorry, but Sam-kun doesn't seem like a real Japanese to me (born here, maybe? )  For one, "everybody" is "minasan".

Sorry again, but Anstahh's answer is not Japanese.

  3. I think its this : 休止しよいなさい  kyuushiyoinasai  well it has rest in it :/

  4. lets end

    = owari NI shimashou

    lets pause

= hitoyasumi shimashou (pause for a cup of tea etc)

  5. let's pause

    it kind of translates to

    choto mate desu yo!  ÃƒÂ£Ã‚Â¡Ã£Â‚‡ã£ã¨ã¾ã¦ã§ã™ã‚ˆ

    this mean: wait a minute!

to day wait a minute please:

    choto mate kudasai ちょっとまてください。

to say everyone wait a minute please just add minisan: みにさん。

  6. "Let's pause" in Japanese is:

    [小]休止しましょう([shou]kyuushi shimashou)

    or

    一息つきましょう(hitoiki tsukimashou)

    The latter sounds more informal.

Note: [ ] can be omitted.
