My friend (canadian) says its "ferme ta yeule" is that correct? and what other ways could I say it?

"Fermez ta bouche" (to a group)

"Ferme(z) la" Shut it

"Ta bouche" is shut your mouth/trap (from About.com: French expressions)

"Ta toi!" is literally "Shut up!"

"Ta gueule!" if you REALLY want to be rude.

Ferme la bouche?  Yes, it's close to "Callate la boca!"  

The more your learn languages, the more you learn they have in common.  Callate! works in spanish, Ferme! probably works in french, at the right moment.
