  1. @jenfwed : magasiner is a french word... from the canadian province Quebec. It's not used in France and shopping is not used in Quebec. Strange isn't it ?

  2. Either faire des courses (shopping for grocery for example)

or faire du shopping (going to browse for clothes, bags, shoes, decorating the house...)

  3. According to my French professor, there are three basically interchangeable ways to say it:  faire des achats, faire des courses, or faire du shopping.

  4. there's not a word for "shopping"

    you would just say shopping

  5. faire des achats - shopping

faire des courses - running errands (i.e. grocery shopping)

and I have also seen the word magasiner - which would be more slang - a regular -er verb, but I'm not sure how much it is used.
