I want to thank my teacher and my awesome boss, but don't know how. I want it to mean allot, but not be an awkward obsessive thank you. Or like a brown noser. They are great Men that have been very kind and helpful in my life. Any Ideas?

  1. I think a gift card for Star Buck's or Applebee's would be thoughful and not overboard. Include a card that says how much they have meant to you. You won't sound like a brown-noser. You are just a kind person showing your appreciation. People love to feel appreciated.

  2. yeah a thankyou card, note-give a small  gift, like a gift card or something

  3. "Sir,I'd like to thank you for all the things you've done for me while you've been associating with me (or teaching) but I really appreciate how you have helped me the past few years."

        Works every time. :P

  4. Some companies have award programs through Human Resources or upper management in which you can praise a fellow employee.. if you work for a larger company, contact HR and see if they have something like this.  If not, send them a simple Thank You card for something specific they've done to help you out.

The thank you card would work for a teacher too, but I'd wait until the end of the semester/school year so it doesn't seem like you're sucking up.

  5. I have always given cards when I felt I needed to thank someone without making it awkward. It was always very well received and appreciated. Go for it!

  6. The right time is the key. Catch them "white-handed", meaning exactly when they do some thing great for you. If this has already happened thanking them now seems like you have some ulterior motive. That's when you talk about it, appreciate it, and thank them for it.

This technique is good not just for thanking your teacher or boss. It can be used with anybody, to reinforce the behavior that you like from them.

  7. A thank you card with kind words and your thoughts on it. Don't see why that would be an obsessive thank you. Goodluck.

  8. Any old token shows you meant something. A nice Pen, an old book they might like, anything. Just knowing that you wanted to say thanks is enough to show them how you feel.

  9. Just give them a thank you card.

Also buy them a small gift, maybe a mug each with best boss and best teacher on!

Or if you know what they drink, buy them some cans
